Your future role
We are looking for experienced JAVA cloud developers to work on innovative global services to observe, understand, and safeguard the availability of SAP Business Technology Platform and all the solutions built on top. You will be exposed to the newest technologies, get direct touchpoints to customer needs, work collaboratively in a strong team, and get ways to co-shape the future of our solutions. In addition to Walldorf, the position can be filled in Karlsruhe. As (Senior) Developer (f/m/d) and member of our observability team, you will develop and operate observability services that follow cloud-native paradigms. The newest technologies and open-source projects will be your daily life. Your responsibility will be to: Develop robust, secure, and maintainable software, e.g., observability services to support logging, monitoring, tracing, and availability and their integrated analysis, Take care of proper testing, code reviews, continuous integration, and delivery, Ensure built-in monitoring and automated operations along with DevOps principles.
What is essential for the role? In the first place? An open mind! A good bachelor or master’s degree in computer science or a related technical discipline Proficiency in state-of-the-art programming languages and concepts, such as Java, node.js, Go, SQL, Python Experience with cloud programming models respecting distributed and asynchronous execution, scalability, resilience, and availability needs Good awareness for security aspects in the cloud Experience with state-of-the-art software engineering frameworks and methodologies, e.g., Spring, Spring Boot, test-driven-development, continuous integration, Git and/or Jenkins Fluent English language skills oral and written and good German skills ABOUT THE TEAM Within our development team we research, develop, and operate cloud services to observe and analyze cloud services & applications along multiple dimensions, including performance, availability, and robustness. By that, we offer the platform basis for all other teams developing on top to establish good insights into their solutions.
