(Junior) Engineer (f/m/d) for Composable Enterprise Innovations

The Role

As a (Junior) Engineer (f/m/d) for Composable Enterprise Innovations, you will be part of a technology-focused team that was built to help shape future generations of SAP software. In this role, you will have the opportunity to support projects coming directly from our executives and senior management and creatively develop new frontrunner applications that emphasize the value of SAP’s Business Technology Platform.

The main project you will be working on is focusing on modular and composable business processes defining the future of enterprise systems. With your strong software development skills, you and the team will design and implement proof-of-concept solutions and demos to highlight the benefits and feasibility of the team’s ideas.

The team is currently being built up, which will allow you to get involved in this future-looking project right from the start and actively shape how to drive this new team to success.

Role Requirements

  • University degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or a related field
  • Very good programming skills (e.g., JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Go, Swift, Kotlin) and strong competencies in computer science including data structures, algorithms, design patterns, and software design
  • Knowledge of:
    • Cloud programming and infrastructures (AWS, Azure, GCP) as well as in designing and implementing RESTful APIs
    • State-of-the-art web and mobile technologies, frameworks, and tools (e.g., React, Vue, Svelte, XCode, Android Studio, …)
    • Agile software development processes and experience with development processes driven by regular code reviews
  • Practical experience with relational databases as well as with microservice architectures and distributed systems
  • Experience with innovation methodologies, e.g., Design Thinking, is a plus

We are looking for a reliable, open-minded, and collaborative personality with strong teamwork skills, who is determined to reach a goal in time and can work independently and prioritize. The role requires fluent English and preferably German language skills – both written and verbal.

Work Experience

We are looking for an outstanding individual with up to 3 years of work experience. Graduates are welcome to apply. Ideally, you already gained some experience of working in a similar role as e.g., an intern.
