The Technical Development Program (TDP) is a local leadership development program at our site in Ludwigshafen. This trainee program is focused on developing you as a high potential leadership talent for AbbVie Operations. It is a three-year program that gives you the opportunity to explore assignments in different areas of AbbVie Operations, developing exceptional functional and leadership skills while working on a wide range of projects and gaining exposure to our diverse leaders.

After completing the TDP, you will have diverse experience, technical ability, and the self-confidence to make remarkable impact for our patients.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • You will get hands-on experiences in manufacturing (i.e. packaging, bulk manufacturing), in engineering, quality assurance, operational excellence, technical operations and/or supply chain
  • You will receive career mentoring with technical and leadership training to accelerate your professional development
  • Over the course of the three-year program (18 months of which include the introduction to shift duty), you will be given extensive opportunities to develop both professionally and personally, which will give you the required skills needed for future success within our organization
  • We will work with you to create a personalized development plan to serve as a step-by-step guide towards the experiences, knowledge, and resources necessary to achieve your career goals

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • You are a recent university graduate (preferably with a master’s degree or PhD) from science based (i.e. Pharmacy, Chemistry, BioScience) or technical based studies (i.e. Engineering, Packaging Engineering, etc.)
  • During your studies, you have ideally completed at least one internship or similar working experience in a manufacturing environment with experience within a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice)environment
  • You have exceptional interpersonal skills and display strong competencies in teamwork, adaptability, innovation, initiative, integrity, and professional maturity
  • You are highly ambitious and have a strong aspiration to develop into a leadership role
  • As this is a graduate program, ideally you have no more than initial working experience after graduation
  • As AbbVie is an international, English-speaking company, you are required to have advanced German and English language skills
